Rehab & Pain Management

Our Newest Modality

LIVS is excited to offer our newest modality, Companion Laser Therapy! Laser therapy provides a non-invasive, pain-free treatment which can be used to treat a variety of conditions. Common uses for laser therapy include, reducing inflammation, arthritis pain, wound size and over-all healing time. It can also be performed in conjunction with existing rehabilitation and medical treatment protocols.

Rehab & Pain Management

Sometimes the most critical part of your pets’ treatment comes after the surgical intervention. Post-operative rehabilitative therapy can lead to better surgical outcomes, help recovery to a full range of motion, and increase overall quality of life. The use of rehabilitation post-operatively can also decrease inflammation and pain in the affected area, and has been shown to restore function more quickly than in patients that do not utilize rehabilitative techniques.

Rehabilitation can also be very helpful in non-surgical cases. Osteoarthritis sufferers can enjoy a reduction of inflammation and joint destruction in addition to pain relief and increased mobility. Neurological patients can increase balance and coordination, and rehabilitation can even assist with weight loss.

In-patient Rehabilitation

In many cases physical rehabilitation is recommended for your companion animal’s optimal health and happiness post operatively. While your companion animal is recovering our certified Physical Rehabilitation professionals will be providing the necessary rehabilitation services to physically strengthen, promote healing and aide in companion animal’s recovery time.

Out-patient Rehabilitation

Sometimes rehabilitation can take an extended period of time, and in such cases we provide out-patient drop off for your convenience. Our staff will make sure that the physical rehabilitation needs of your companion animal are met. Whether it’s a once a week appointment or daily; the care and therapeutic services that are provided are the same as for our in-patient clients.

Home Exercise Program

A home exercise program allows the pet owner to be the rehabilitator. During the consultation a member of the LIVS Rehab team will meet with the owner and review specific needs their companion animal may have and discuss homecare (what to do/not to do). The owner will also be given a detailed list of exercises that should be performed. All exercises will be demonstrated on the patient by the LIVS Rehab Therapist. The owner will also be given the opportunity to try the exercises to ensure proper technique and comprehension.

Whatever your pet’s rehabilitative needs, LIVS can help.
