Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic Imaging

diag.pngThe Diagnostic Imaging Department of Long Island Veterinary Specialists serves as a center of professional activity within the hospital. Many patients referred to Long Island Veterinary Specialists require diagnostic imaging to arrive at a diagnosis; hence, the diagnostic imaging department acts as a hub through which many of the clinicians pass each day while caring for their patients. This common ground often results in interactive dialogue between specialists, which translates to better care for our patients and sometimes a shorter hospital stay.

The highly advanced imaging technologies found at Long Island Veterinary Specialists are similar to what’s found in a human hospital. In fact, LIVS is the only specialty hospital that regularly uses Thermography as a diagnostic modality with two in-house specialists who are Diplomates of the American College of Clinical Thermology.

Efficiency, safety and quality are the trademarks of the diagnostic imaging department and all are evident in the work performed by the staff on a daily basis.

Diagnostic Imaging

Rad-2.pngBut diagnostic imaging is only as good as the interpretation or reading of the images, thus having an experienced radiologist on our team is an essential component of our success in caring for patients. Our board-certified radiologists are leaders in their field, with decades of experience. LIVS’ Dr. Stefanacci has authored and co-authored numerous articles and narratives published in veterinary literature, and lectures regularly at local, national, and international veterinary conferences.
