Long Island Veterinary Specialists seeks a Staff Veterinary Behaviorist at their office in Plainview, New York.
See appointments during regular business hours and maintain 4 day per week schedule at approximately 40 hours per week. Responsible for assessing and diagnosing the behavior conditions of animal patients through medical history, extensive owner interview, physical exam and observation. Create a supportive treatment plan tailored to the patient needs using current practices based on medical and scientific findings. Responsibilities include client communication and regularly scheduled recheck appointments during treatment. Ensure that client service is a priority. Patient care plans will be prepared and offered to clients and policies regarding financial agreements will be adhered to during the patients' course of treatment. He/she will maintain a professional relationship with all LIVS specialty veterinarians and support their patient care goals.
Requirements: Requires a DVM in Veterinary Medicine. Must be a licensed veterinarian in New York State. Must be board certified in Veterinary Behavior Medicine. Full-time position.
